Apparently I flail my hands around quite a bit. Luckily, George can edit <em>most<\/em> of them out.<\/li>\n<li>(9.10) Please do send in suggestions for an &#8220;airquotes&#8221; jingle.<\/li>\n<li>(9.45) <a href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/wp-content\/uploads\/Bottleopener.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[2404]\">Witness our delightful bottle opener<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>(11.00) We bloody loves <a title=\"Lazy Diary entry: Emerson's 'Bookbinder', again\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2008\/12\/05\/emersons-bookbinder-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emerson&#8217;s &#8216;Bookbinder&#8217;<\/a>, we do. George and me both. It&#8217;s doubtless what started me on my Midstrength Obsession, too.<\/li>\n<li>(13.15) Fittingly, &#8220;all I know&#8221; about Tangerines is wrong: they&#8217;re not <em>from<\/em> Tangiers, merely named so because they were originally imported from there.<\/li>\n<li>(14.45) Pilsner is from 1842, so &#8220;mid&#8221; 1800s &#8212; not &#8220;late&#8221; as <a title=\"'Beer 121: The Audiobook', during the rambling for which I made a similar error\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2011\/03\/27\/beer-121-the-audiobook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I often get wrong<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>(16.45) My initial ramblings about <strong>Grey Market Imports<\/strong> caused a bit of a stir, but were buried within a <em>Diary<\/em> entry about <a title=\"Diary II entry #35: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2010\/11\/15\/sierra-nevada-pale-ale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sierra Nevada Pale Ale<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>(18.00) &#8220;Dairy&#8221; might be a bit like &#8220;Chilly Bin&#8221;, I fear. Localisation of this term is particularly baffling, so: corner store \/ convenience store \/ milk bar \/ deli. You know what I mean, right?<\/li>\n<li>(19.30 &amp; 26.00) I had a <a title=\"Diary II entry #57: Russian River 'Pliny the Elder'\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2011\/01\/22\/russian-river-pliny-the-elder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Russian River &#8216;Pliny the Elder&#8217;<\/a> which I didn&#8217;t like as much as I <em>wanted<\/em> to like, so it&#8217;s become iconic of this problem, for me.<\/li>\n<li>(24.40) &#8220;Tastes like strawberry&#8221; hearkens back to <a title=\"Diary entry #77: Peak Brewery 'Monkey Point' IPA\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2009\/01\/27\/peak-brewery-monkey-point-ipa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a beer that I first had at George&#8217;s house<\/a> which had recurring infection problems (our bottle, mercifully, escaped).<\/li>\n<li>(26.30) <em>Brews News<\/em> had the two key articles, here: <a title=\"'Is this Australia's most influential beer?', on brewsnews.com.au\" href=\"http:\/\/www.brewsnews.com.au\/2010\/11\/is-this-australias-most-influential-beer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pete Mitcham on Sierra Nevada itself<\/a>, and then <a title=\"'Grey is not the new black', on brewsnews.com.au\" href=\"http:\/\/www.brewsnews.com.au\/2010\/11\/grey-is-not-the-new-black\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt Kirkegaard on Grey Market stuff in general<\/a> &#8212; arguing quite convincingly for a boycott.<\/li>\n<li>(27.30) George &#8212; quite the Movie Nerd &#8212; is terribly embarrassed to note that it was Ice Cube, not LL Cool J, who featured in <em><a title=\"'Anaconda (film)', on Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anaconda_(film)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anaconda<\/a><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>(28.00) Film names do change around a lot, but seriously, the sequel to <em>Piranha 3D<\/em> looks like it might be called <em><a title=\"'Piranha 3DD', on comingsoon.net\" href=\"http:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/films.php?id=69039\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Piranha 3DD<\/a><\/em>. Knowing this, however, didn&#8217;t make up for George&#8217;s shame at getting the James Cameron titbit slightly off: &#8216;Avatar Jim&#8217; directed the <em>original sequel<\/em> (if that makes sense; you know, the one after the original original).<\/li>\n<li>(31.10) George would like to point out that this is likely your one-and-only-one opportunity to hear me admit that I&#8217;m controlled by the Universe.<\/li>\n<li>(33.00) <a title=\"beerstore.co.nz\" href=\"http:\/\/beerstore.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beer Store<\/a> deals (only partially?) in the Grey, whereas Hashigo Zake&#8217;s online <a title=\"cultbeerstore.co.nz\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cultbeerstore.co.nz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;Cult Beer Store&#8217;<\/a> traffics solely in the White. I&#8217;ve had bloody marvellous beers from both. As with <em>literally everything<\/em>, Your Mileage May Vary.<\/li>\n<li>(35.00) <a title=\"Diary II entry #4: Yeasite Boys 'Pot Kettle Black'\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2010\/09\/08\/yeastie-boys-pot-kettle-black\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yeastie Boys &#8216;Pot Kettle Black&#8217;<\/a> is increasingly available. You should have some, if you haven&#8217;t &#8212; if you have, have <em>more<\/em>, or try one of its variant editions. I rambled most about the troublesome name for the <em>style<\/em> when I had a <a title=\"Diary II entry #70: Deschutes 'Hop in the Dark'\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2011\/03\/03\/deschutes-hop-in-the-dark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deschutes &#8216;Hop in the Dark&#8217;<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>(38.00) I lamented Invercargill&#8217;s &#8216;rebranding&#8217; when I not-long-ago uploaded the from-long-ago\u00a0<em>Diary<\/em> entry for <a title=\"Diary entry #73: Invercargill 'Biman'\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2009\/01\/17\/invercargill-biman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8216;Biman&#8217;<\/a> &#8212; as I will keep spelling it, thank you.<\/li>\n<li>(40.00) Midstrength News debuts here, though it&#8217;s yet to attract the name (it will, later&#8230;) &#8212; and the <a title=\"Diary II entry #61: 8 Wired 'Underwired'\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2011\/02\/12\/8-wired-underwired\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">8 Wired &#8216;Underwired&#8217;<\/a> reference shows you how long we&#8217;ve been meaning to do this.<\/li>\n<li>(41.00) How the <em>hell<\/em> did I so-readily know that <a title=\"'Angostura Bitters', on Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Angostura_bitters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angostura Bitters<\/a> (which I don&#8217;t even <em>like<\/em>) is 44.7% ABV?
