Uncharacteristically, when I first tried it, I was armed with neither camera nor <em>Diary<\/em> &#8212; so, you know, oh damn, you&#8217;ve twisted my arm, alright <em>fine<\/em>, damn you<em>, I&#8217;ll have another<\/em>. Marvellously, my second crack at it also coincided with the birthday of my dear friend Victoria. Not that she was <em>around<\/em>; she lives in Sydney. But I&#8217;ll take any excuse to raise a glass, and she provided two in being both officially-English (as is the style), and someone with whom I&#8217;ve had more than a few golden ales &#8212; she was there for that <a title=\"Diary II entry #58: Little Creatures Pale Ale on Australia Day\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2011\/01\/26\/little-creatures-pale-ale-on-australia-day\/\" target=\"_blank\">first Australia Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Tally Ho!&#8217; was bloody marvellous, really. Quite a bit more full-throated and solid than something like the <a title=\"Diary entry #66: Three Boys Golden Ale\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2008\/11\/25\/three-boys-golden-ale\/\" target=\"_blank\">beloved<\/a> <a title=\"Lazy Diary entry: Three Boys Golden Ale, again\" href=\"http:\/\/philcook.net\/beerdiary\/2009\/02\/09\/three-boys-golden-ale-again\/\" target=\"_blank\">Three Boys Golden<\/a>, it made for a nice counterpoint and was still stupifyingly refreshing; just <em>perfect<\/em> after work on the humid nights we were having at the time. Really, the only thing wrong with it <em>at all<\/em> is its existence as a reminder that Emerson&#8217;s <em>still<\/em> haven&#8217;t put a golden ale back into proper permanent \/ semi-permanent \/ seasonal \/ at-least-predictable production.
