My work here is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC 3.0 NZ LicensePrior to May 2012, posts were back-dated to the time of their original pen-and-paper Diary entries and podcasts were given arbitrary dates so as to fit in a nice 'reading order' on the front page. It really was terribly confusing, eventually. Sincere apologies for the philosophy-headaches which resulted.
I'm still committed to back-filling the gap between the actual Diary and the blog, I've just stopped mucking with the dates and will occasionally intersperse much-more-recent 'topical' stuff when my journalistic impulses overtake my historian slowness.
My views are entirely my own, though anyone is more than welcome to agree with me.

Holgate Brewhouse ‘White Ale’
Verbatim: Holgate Brewhouse White Ale. 5.0%, 330ml, $16/6pk, at home. Bottle conditioned, but the tiniest amount of sediment. Wheat beer, very mild taste. Refreshing on a 40° day. Not gold, light, cloudy. Like flat L&P or some random chemistry set … Continue reading
Schofferhofer Hefeweizen
Verbatim: Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen. 5.0%, 500ml, $?, at home. Bottle conditioned, cloudy light-brown gold. Enduring head. Light but sharp yeast smell. Sharp taste, but not at all John Williamsy. Afterthoughts, October 2010: I’m still a big fan of this Hefe, but … Continue reading
Coopers ‘Special Old Stout’
Four entries in, and we already find our first beer that no longer exists, as at the time of the Great Uploading in October 2010. I had to check online to make sure this actually did exist, and I wasn’t … Continue reading
Gosser (‘Stiftsbrau’ Dunkel?)
I have to guess at just which Gösser beer this is; I had left some of the beers in there and what was once ice was later a few inches of water, and the label floated right off of this … Continue reading
Erdinger Weissbier
That’s a terrible effort at one of those ‘ß’ characters in my handwriting. But hey, at least it’s not as hideous as my 5s. I can never figure out where they went wrong. Verbatim: Erdinger Weißbier. 5.3% 500ml $? At … Continue reading
Samuel Adam’s ‘Boston Lager’
So starts the diary. After years of thinking that it was a birthday present, a look at the date here makes me realise it must’ve been a Christmas one. Shows how rubbish the human memory is, I suppose. (Either that, … Continue reading
